(Phnom Penh): The Indian Association of Cambodia Community (IACC), with the gracious support of the Embassy of India to the Kingdom of Cambodia, celebrated the Festival of Lights – Diwali 2025 at the OCIC Convention Center, Chroy Changvar, in an evening that illuminated friendship, culture, and shared prosperity between India, Cambodia, and the global community.
The event was graced by Say Sam Al, Deputy Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, who attended as the Guest of Honour, alongside Shri Vanlalvawna Bawitlung, Ambassador of India to the Kingdom of Cambodia, and other distinguished dignitaries, officials, and members of the diplomatic and business community.
Remarks by the Ambassador of India
Shri Vanlalvawna Bawitlung, Ambassador of India to the Kingdom of Cambodia, extended his Diwali greetings and appreciation to the Cambodian leadership and the Indian diaspora for strengthening people-to-people ties between the two nations.
“Diwali is a festival that symbolizes light, unity, and hope — values that beautifully connect India and Cambodia through centuries of shared heritage and friendship. The growing partnership between our countries reflects this spirit, built on mutual respect and cooperation across culture, education, and development,” he said.
The Ambassador highlighted India’s continued commitment to enhancing bilateral relations through cultural exchanges, skill development, and collaborative initiatives that contribute to the prosperity of both nations.

The evening featured mesmerizing performances by renowned dance and music troupes from India, who captivated the audience with vibrant traditional and Bollywood-style acts.
A special Apsara Dance performance by the Princess Buppa Devi Dance School beautifully showcased Cambodia’s classical heritage, symbolizing the bond between the two ancient civilizations.
The celebration also featured live music performances by leading Indian singers Khushboo Grewal, Sandeep Batra, and Bhargavi Pillai, adding glamour and energy to the night.
