(Phnom Penh): Cambodian Senate President, Samdech Techo Hun Sen said that the Cambodia–Thailand Peace Deal, signed today, represents the early harvest of the “quiet but not silent” strategy pursued by Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet.
Samdech Techo wrote on his social media on Sunday (Oct. 26) as follows:
“This is the early harvest of the ‘quiet but not silent’ strategy of Prime Minister Hun Manet through the signing of the Cambodia–Thailand Peace Deal, facilitated by the Malaysian prime minister as the ASEAN Chair and the President of the United States, Donald Trump.
Maintaining peace both inside the country and with neighbouring countries remains our top priority.”
The Cambodia–Thailand Peace Deal was signed in Kuala Lumpur on Sunday morning (Oct. 26) by Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet and Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul with US President Donald Trump and the Malaysian Prime Minister serving as witnesses.
It is worth noting that regarding the long-standing border dispute between Cambodia and Thailand, Samdech Thipadei had previously affirmed that the Royal Government has mobilised all possible means to resolve the situation, including the armed forces, refugees, and Cambodians returning from Thailand, with the foremost objective of safeguarding lives, property, territorial integrity, and restoring a secure and improved environment for the people.
