(Geneva): In an exclusive interview from Geneva, Ouch Borith, First Vice President of the Senate of Cambodia, clarified that the report published by The Nation newspaper is entirely false. He affirmed that the Cambodian delegation had no plan or arrangement for any meeting with the Thai delegation.

Ouch Borith said that The Nation’s publication was a fabrication that distorted facts, creating misunderstanding and unnecessary issues. “In reality, there was no such event at all. Moreover, the newspaper even misidentified my position by referring to me as the ‘Second Vice President’ instead of the First”.

His clarification was made during the General Debate of the 151st Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) Assembly under the theme “safeguarding humanitarian action in times of armed conflict”, held in Geneva, Switzerland, on 21 October 2025.

The remarks followed a The Nation report claiming that the Cambodian parliamentary delegation had unexpectedly postponed a scheduled bilateral meeting with the Thai delegation during the IPU Assembly in Geneva, without providing any reason.
