(Phnom Penh): During the 4th Session of the Senate's 5th Legislature, held on Thursday morning (Oct. 16), the Senate highlighted a summary report on its activities and achievements during the three-month period between the 3rd and 4th sessions (from July to October 2025).
Senate President Hun Sen reported that, over the past three months, in his capacity as Acting Head of State and President of the Senate, he held 24 meetings and discussions with international guests, ambassadors, diplomats, and representatives of various institutions, and also conducted an official visit to the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam.
“In light of Thailand’s growing aggression against Cambodia’s territorial integrity, Samdech Techo highlighted the root causes and the actual situation of the border dispute, the Kingdom’s patience, and Cambodia’s firm stance in resolving the conflict through peaceful means in accordance with international law. He also appealed to friendly nations to help mediate, prevent escalation, and respect and implement the agreed ceasefire to restore normal relations," according to the outcomes seen by Fresh News on Thursday (Oct. 16).
In the same three-month period, the leadership and members of the Senate held meetings and discussions with national and international guests to strengthen parliamentary diplomacy, expand friendship and cooperation in both bilateral and multilateral frameworks, and participated in a total of 45 official events. Moreover, they attended, either in person or virtually, 28 meetings and forums within both bilateral and multilateral frameworks.
On this occasion, the Senate expressed deep gratitude to all brave front-line soldiers who have tirelessly defended the nation’s territorial integrity, motherland, and people. It also conveyed profound respect and admiration for the wise, patriotic, and selfless leadership of Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet and Senate President Hun Sen for their skilful management of national affairs and constant solidarity with the Cambodian people in all circumstances.
