(Phnom Penh): The Royal Government Spokesperson Unit of Cambodia has the honor to inform the public that on the afternoon of 6 to 9 October 2025, in Washington D.C., Sun Chanthol, Deputy Prime Minister and First Vice Chairman of the CDC, Cham Nimul, Minister of Commerce and a Cambodian delegation met with Ambassador Jamieson Greer, United States Trade Representative (USTR).
"In this meeting, both sides applauded the significant progress achieved thus far on the negotiation of the Agreement on Reciprocal Trade and discussed steps to further strengthen bilateral trade relations," according to the press release seen by Fresh News on Friday (Oct. 10).
"On 31 July 2025, Cambodia was granted 19 per cent reciprocal tariff rates, down from the original rate of 49 per cent. The result of the reciprocal tariff rates reduction and negotiation of the Agreement on Reciprocal Trade was substantially completed through 7 virtual conferences and 3 rounds of in-person meetings.
The Royal Government of the Kingdom of Cambodia, led by Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet will continue to cooperate closely with the United States of America to achieve a mutually beneficial trade and investment relationship."
