(Phnom Penh): Roosevelt Skerrit, Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Dominica, concluded his three-day working visit in Cambodia on Friday (Oct. 10).

During the visit, the Roosevelt Skerrit paid a courtesy call on Cambodian Senate President Hun Sen. He also held a bilateral meeting with Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet at the Peace Palace. The two prime ministers had an in-depth discussion on strengthening the warm relations and expanding mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries, following which they witnessed the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding on the Establishment of Bilateral Consultations between the two Ministries of Foreign Affairs.

During a meeting with Prime Minister Hun Manet, Samdech Thipadei extended a warm welcome to Roosevelt Skerrit and the delegation for their working visit to the Kingdom of Cambodia. Samdech Thipadei viewed the working visit as an important opportunity to strengthen and expand bilateral relations and cooperation. He added that this year marks the 15th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

In response, Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit expressed his profound gratitude to the Royal Government of Cambodia, the people of Cambodia, and Samdech Thipadei for the warm and cordial hospitality. Roosevelt Skerrit expressed admiration and high appreciation for Cambodia's development and progress, and conveyed his confidence that under the wise and visionary leadership of Samdech Thipadei, Cambodia will achieve even greater development and prosperity.

On the occasion, Roosevelt Skerrit also expressed satisfaction with the progress of the excellent bilateral relationship and was confident that cooperation would be further strengthened and deepened.

Both leaders highly valued the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on the Establishment of Bilateral Consultations between the Foreign Ministries of the two countries, which is intended to promote practical cooperation in potential sectors of mutual benefit for both nations. Both Heads of Government agreed and encouraged the relevant ministries and institutions of both countries to continue to strengthen and expand their relations and cooperation, especially through this consultation mechanism.

The two leaders also discussed and exchanged views on promoting cooperation in key sectors, including political-diplomatic affairs, economy, trade, agriculture, tourism, and people-to-people exchanges.

The Working Visit of the Roosevelt Skerrit to the Kingdom of Cambodia further strengthened the bonds of friendship, solidarity and cooperation between the two nations and peoples.
