(Phnom Penh): The Ministry of National Defence of the Kingdom of Cambodia wishes to inform the public, both domestic and international media outlets, on the preparatory progress of the Regional Border Committee (RBC) meeting between Cambodia’s Military Region 4 and Thailand’s Army Area 2.
According to the 4th Military Region, on 8 October 2025, Brigadier General Nith Narong, Deputy Chief of Staff and Head of the Secretariat of the Regional Border Committee (RBC), the 4th Military Region of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces had issued an invitation letter to the Head of the Secretariat of the Regional Border Committee (RBC) of the 2nd Army Area of the Royal Thai Army, along with ten members, to attend a preparatory work meeting. This meeting is scheduled for 10 October 2025, at 10:00 a.m. in Samrong City, Oddar Meanchey Province.
The objective is to finalize preparations for the Cambodia-Thailand RBC meeting between the 4th Military Region of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces and the 2nd Army Area of the Royal Thai Army, with the aim of ensuring the upcoming discussions are progressive, constructive, and yield mutually positive results.
It should be noted that on 7 October 2025, the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces' 4th Military Region sent a second invitation to the Thai 2nd Army Area to attend the Cambodia-Thailand Regional Border Committee (RBC) meeting, scheduled for 15-17 October 2025, in Oddar Meanchey Province, which Cambodia will host.
This meeting is being held in accordance with the mandate given by the General Border Committee (GBC) and follows the agreement made at the First Extraordinary RBC Meeting on 27 August 2025, with the goal of promoting the continued, full, and effective implementation of the ceasefire, seeking practical cooperation to enhance peace and stability, and facilitating a swift return to normalcy between the two countries.
