(Tokyo): On 29 September Sok Siphana, Senior Minister in charge of Multilateral Trade and Economic Affairs, Chairman of the Trade Policy Advisory Board (TPAB), and Chairman of the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CP-TPP) Study Working Group, held a high-level bilateral meeting with Miyaji Takuma, State Minister for Foreign Affairs, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Tokyo.

The discussion focused on further strengthening bilateral economic relations and enhancing collaboration on the development of Sihanoukville Port.

Sok Siphana reaffirmed Cambodia’s strong commitment to the principles of multilateralism, the promotion of a rules-based international order, and the safeguarding of peace and stability in the region. In this spirit, he briefed his counterpart on recent developments along the Cambodia–Thailand border. He underscored Cambodia’s firm yet peaceful stance in addressing such challenges, emphasising that Cambodia remains committed to resolving disputes exclusively through diplomatic dialogue and negotiation.

He also conveyed Cambodia’s hope for Japan’s continued understanding and support of its position, noting that Cambodia’s approach reflects not only its respect for international law and agreements but also its enduring aspiration to contribute constructively to regional harmony and stability.
