(Phnom Penh): A U.S. Congressional Delegation, led by Congressman Adam Smith (D-WA), highlighted that the United States wants to see the border conflict ceasefire hold and turn into a durable and lasting peace, according to the U.S. Embassy.
Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet welcomed the delegation on Friday (Sep. 26) at the Peace Palace. Discussions focused on strengthening U.S.–Cambodia partnership and advancing shared priorities in peace, security, and economic development.
During his visit to Cambodia, Congressman Adam Smith also met with Minister of National Defence Tea Seiha to discuss maritime security, countering transnational crime, and ensuring a free and open Indo-Pacific region.
The U.S. Embassy added that the United States is committed to working with Cambodia to build a safer, more prosperous Indo-Pacific.
