(Phnom Penh): Cambodian Senate President Hun Sen reaffirmed that Cambodia firmly upholds the One-China Policy and considers Hong Kong, Taiwan, Tibet, and Xinjiang as China’s internal affairs.

Samdech Techo spoke on Friday (Sep. 26) during the celebration of the 75th Anniversary of the Founding of the People’s Republic of China.

Speaking on Friday (Sept. 26) at the celebration of the 75th Anniversary of the Founding of the People’s Republic of China, Samdech Techo underscored: “Cambodia firmly upholds the One-China Policy and regards the issues of Hong Kong, Taiwan, Tibet, and Xinjiang as purely China’s internal affairs.”

On this occasion, he also voiced support for China’s various initiatives, including the Belt and Road Initiative, the Global Development Initiative, the Global Security Initiative, and the Global Civilisation Initiative, expressing strong belief that these initiatives will contribute to safeguarding common interests, promoting global development and advancing the United Nations 2030 Sustainable Development Goals, as well as maintaining peace, security and harmony.

Samdech Techo Hun Sen further underlined that Cambodia will continue to work closely with China within regional and international frameworks, including ASEAN–China cooperation, the Lancang–Mekong Cooperation, the Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS), and the United Nations, in order to contribute to maintaining peace, stability, prosperity and development in the region and the world.
