(Phnom Penh): On Friday the evening (Sep. 26), Cambodian Senate President Hun Sen attended the celebration of the 75th Anniversary of the Founding of the People’s Republic of China.
The event was also attended by Chinese Ambassador to Cambodia Wang Wenbin, members of the Senate, National Assembly and Royal Government, representatives of diplomatic missions accredited to Cambodia, as well as numerous national and international distinguished guests.
On this occasion, Samdech Techo Hun Sen said that over the past 76 years, China has achieved remarkable accomplishments in all fields, successfully overcoming various challenges and obstacles in its nation-building journey. China has become a global centre of economy, trade, investment, finance, production, industry, science and innovation, making significant contributions to regional and global economic growth.
Samdech Techo Hun Sen also congratulated the Chinese friends for their rapid national development under the leadership of the Communist Party of China, with President Xi Jinping at its core, including the achievement of the First Centenary Goal in 2021, five per cent economic growth in 2024, and his optimism that China will attain high economic growth in 2025 as well as achieve the Second Centenary Goal in 2049, transforming into a prosperous, strong, democratic, culturally advanced, harmonious and modern socialist country.
According to Samdech Techo Hun Sen, since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1958, Cambodia–China friendship, nurtured with great care by successive generations of leaders of both countries, has continued to grow stronger and deeper, evolving into a comprehensive strategic partnership and an unbreakable iron-clad friendship. He expressed his profound delight in seeing the two countries maintaining close and fruitful cooperation in all sectors, which reflects their traditional solidarity and win-win cooperation.
