(Phnom Penh): Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet affirmed that Cambodia’s long and bitter experience of war has shown that war cannot be ended through war, but only through negotiations conducted by peaceful means that can deliver lasting solutions.

Samdech Thipadei spoke on Friday (Sep. 26) during the Cabinet Meeting at the Peace Palace.

“Cambodia’s prolonged experience of war has shown that war cannot be ended by war. Only through negotiations by peaceful means can solutions be found that bring peace, enabling displaced citizens to return to their homes," according to the outcomes seen by Fresh News on Friday (Sep. 26).

With reference to the ongoing border conflict between Cambodia and Thailand, the premier reiterated the Royal Government’s firm stance in respecting international law to resolve border issues peacefully.

In addition, Samdech Thipadei praised and expressed gratitude to the heroic soldiers and all armed forces who bravely stand on the frontlines in defence of sovereignty and territorial integrity. He also extended appreciation to the relevant ministries, institutions, authorities at all levels, and Cambodians both inside and outside the country who continue to place their trust in the Royal Government and provide steadfast support and encouragement to the courageous frontline soldiers and police forces.

Prime Minister Hun Manet further expressed thanks to the relevant ministries and institutions, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the Ministry of National Defence, the Ministry of Interior, the State Secretariat of Border Affairs, the seven provincial administrations along the Thai border, and all armed forces for their efforts in protecting territorial integrity, addressing refugee issues, and ensuring the safety of citizens, stressing the need for these collective efforts to continue.
