(Phnom Penh): On Friday (Sep. 26), Lieutenant General Maly Socheata, Spokesperson for Cambodia’s Defence Ministry, firmly rejected Thailand’s claim that “Cambodia has mobilized troops and weapons.”

According to the Ministry’s press release, on 26 September 2025, some Thai social media pages and news outlets published reports asserting that “Cambodia has mobilized troops and weapons,” accompanied by several images.

The Ministry of National Defence rejects such assertions and would like to clarify the facts as follows:

1. The claims made by certain Thai social media accounts and news outlets are not true.
2. The images used and published by those platforms are old photos, and not taken today.
3. The Cambodian armed forces have not engaged in any provocative actions or any activities that violate the ceasefire agreement, contrary to what has been raised by the aforementioned sources.

The Cambodian Armed Forces would like to reaffirm our strong commitment to fully respecting and implementing the ceasefire agreement between Cambodia and Thailand, and will continue to cooperate closely at all levels to seek practical collaboration aimed at enhancing peace and stability between the two countries, as well as ensuring a swift return to normalcy.
