(Phnom Penh): Cambodian Foreign Minister Prak Sokhonn and Chinese Ambassador to Cambodia Wang Wenbin co-signed the Agreement on the Cooperation on Projects of the Mekong-Lancang Cooperation (MLC) Special Fund 2025 on 17 September 2025 at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, according to a press release seen by Fresh News on Thursday (Sep. 18).

“Within the framework of the MLC Special Fund 2025, a total of eleven projects in Cambodia will secure financial support from the government of the People's Republic of China, amounting to approximately USD 2,5 million. These projects will deliver significant benefits across a diverse range of fields, including tourism, health, agriculture, the conservation and restoration of cultural sites, the advancement of women's entrepreneurship, technical and vocational education and training (TVET), promoting productivity and digital adoption in the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), as well as combating fake news and raising awareness of Mekong-Lancang Cooperation framework.

It is also worth noting that over the past ten years, the MLC Special Fund has provided financial support for 95 projects within Cambodia. The implementation of these collaborative initiatives underscores the enduring commitment of Cambodia and China to significantly contribute to the establishment of a Community of Shared Future of Peace, Prosperity, and Sustainable Development for all the Mekong-Lancang countries.”
