(Phnom Penh): Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet reaffirmed to Philippine President Ferdinand Romualdez Marcos Jr. that Cambodia fully supports the Philippines as it assumes the rotating ASEAN Chairmanship in 2025.

Samdech Thipadei spoke on Monday (Sep. 8) during a joint press conference following his bilateral meeting with the Philippine president.

“In the regional framework, I reaffirmed Cambodia’s full support for the Philippines as it takes on the ASEAN Chairmanship next year. We stand ready to contribute to reinforcing ASEAN unity and centrality,” the premier underscored.

At the same time, the premier affirmed that Cambodia values its long-standing relations with the Philippines, which are grounded in the principles of mutual respect and shared interests. Over the years, the partnership between the two nations has expanded across various fields, including defence and security, trade and investment, economic cooperation, and people-to-people connectivity.

Samdech Thipdei Hun Manet urther expressed gratitude to the Filipino community in Cambodia for their contributions to socio-economic development and extended an invitation for more Filipinos to visit Cambodia as tourists, investors, and business partners.
