(Phnom Penh): Cambodian Ministry of National Defence presented the results of the Extraordinary Meeting of the Cambodia-Thailand Regional Border Committee (RBC) between the 4th Military Region of Cambodia and the 2nd Army Area of Thailand on 27 August 2025, with Thailand as the host.

The Cambodian delegation was led by Lieutenant General Pov Heng, Commander of the 4th Military Region and Co-Chairman of the RBC Extraordinary Meeting. The Thai delegation was led by His Excellency Lieutenant General Boonsin Padklang, Commander of the 2nd Army Area and Co-Chairman of the RBC Extraordinary Meeting.

The meeting commenced at 11:00 a.m. and successfully concluded at 11:53 a.m. on the morning of 27 August 2025.

During this Extraordinary Meeting, both sides agreed to maintain regular communication between all military regions, army areas and units along the Cambodia-Thailand border and strive to resolve all issues peacefully and avoid clashes.

Both sides also emphasised the importance of further strengthening relations at all levels in order to build trust and promote good neighborliness. They further underscored the positive momentum and progress achieved through these engagements in advancing cooperation across all sectors, with the shared aim of returning to normalcy.
