(Phnom Penh): Lieutenant General Maly Socheata, Spokesperson for the Ministry of National Defence, announced that an extraordinary meeting of the Cambodia-Thailand Regional Border Committee (RBC) between Cambodia’s Military Region 4 and Thailand’s Military Region 2 will take place on 27 August 2025.

The spokesperson spoke on Tuesday (Aug. 26) during a press conference.

The spokesperson said that on 25 August 2025 at 3:47 p.m., at the Chom Sa-nguam international border checkpoint, the Secretariat Team of the Cambodia-Thailand Regional Border Committee (RBC), led by Nit Narong, Head of the Secretariat Team of Military Region 4 of Cambodia, held a working discussion with the Secretariat Team of Military Region 2 of Thailand, led by Colonel Yuthasat Senthachai Deputy Commander of Military Region 2.

“Both sides discussed the exchange of minutes and inspected the preparations for the upcoming meetings of the Secretariat Team of the Cambodia-Thailand Regional Border Committee (RBC) between Military Region 4 of Cambodia and Military Region 2 of Thailand, scheduled on 26 August 2025, as well as for the RBC meeting to be held on 27 August 2025,” Maly Socheata underscored.

She added that on the morning of 26 August 2025, the Secretariat Meeting between Cambodia’s Military Region 4 and Thailand’s Military Region 2 would proceed as agreed upon in the agenda.

It should be noted that this upcoming RBC Meeting stems from the outcomes of the Special Meeting on 28 July 2025 and the 13-point agreement reached during the General Border Committee (GBC) Meeting on 7 August 2025 in Malaysia.
