(Phnom Penh): On Monday morning (Aug. 25), the Cambodian National Assembly officially passed the draft law on the amendment of the Nationality Law, which was prepared by the Royal Government.

The approval took place during the 4th session of the 7th legislature, presided over by Samdech Khuon Sudary, President of the National Assembly. The session was also attended by Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of Cambodia, along with 120 members of the National Assembly present at the opening of the session.

During this 4th session of the 7th legislature, the National Assembly discussed and approved two agenda items:

1. Discussion and approval of the draft law on the amendment to the Nationality Law.

2. Draft law on the ratification of the agreement concerning the conservation and sustainable use of marine biological diversity of areas beyond national jurisdiction, under the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea.
