(Phnom Penh): Cambodian Education Minister Hang Chuon Naron said that more than 700 Cambodian students returning from Thailand have been granted scholarships by Samdech Techo Hun Sen to continue their studies in Cambodia.
The minister spoke on Friday (Aug. 22) during a press conference.
The minister said that the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport has prepared for the enrollment of students returning from Thailand. According to the minister, following armed clashes between Thai and Cambodian troops, nearly one million Cambodian workers returned from Thailand, along with more than 700 Cambodian students.
The minister underscord, "Under the high recommendation of Samdech Techo Hun Sen, the ministry has arranged the Samdech Techo Scholarship for these more than 700 students so that they can pursue their studies at Cambodian institutions. Other students who wish to study abroad may apply for scholarships to study overseas.”
