(Banteay Meanchey): On Friday afternoon (Aug. 22), representatives from 42 foreign embassies and 20 international organisations visited Chouk Chey and Prey Chan villages, Ou Beichoan commune, Ou Chrov district, Banteay Meanchey province, to observe Thailand’s unilateral land encroachment activities, including laying of barbed wire and vehicle’s tires.

The field inspection of the ceasefire implementation was conducted by the diplomatic corps accredited to Cambodia, UN agencies, and non-governmental organisations, led by Cambodian Foreign Minister Prak Sokhonn.

This mission followed the briefing delivered by Minister Prak Sokhonn on 21 August 2025 regarding the developments of the Cambodia-Thailand border situation, including landmine issues, to foreign diplomats and UN representatives in Cambodia.

Cambodia and Thailand signed a ceasefire on 28 July 2025, ending five days of armed clashes along the Oddar Meanchey and Preah Vihear border areas, triggered by Thailand’s breach of Cambodian sovereignty and preemptive attacks.

Following the ceasefire, on 7 August 2025, Cambodia and Thailand also signed a 13-point agreement during an extraordinary GBC meeting held in Malaysia.
