(Phnom Penh): From 25-29 August 2025, Suzuki Hideo, Ambassador for Mekong Cooperation, is scheduled to visit Malaysia, the ASEAN Chair for 2025, Cambodia, and Thailand.

“Ambassador Suzuki Hideo will hold meetings with government officials and exchange views toward easing of the tension between Cambodia and Thailand,” according to the embassy’s announcement seen by Fresh News on Friday (Aug. 22).

“The Government of Japan believes that a sound relationship between Cambodia and Thailand is extremely important for stability and development in the region, and has been promoting efforts toward de-escalation of the situation, including encouraging steady implementation of the ceasefire agreement.”
