(Phnom Penh): Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet welcomed the positive outcomes of Cambodia-Thailand Extraordinary Regional Border Committee (RBC) meeting between Cambodia’s Military Region 5 and Thailand’s Military Region 1 on Friday (Aug. 22).

It should be noted that the Ministry of National Defence presented the outcome of the extraordinary meeting of the Cambodia-Thailand Regional Border Committee (RBC) between Cambodia's Military Region 5 and Thailand's Military Region 1 on 22 August 2025, in Sa Kaeo Province, Thailand.

The Cambodian delegation was led by Lieutenant General Ek Sam Aun, Commander of the Military Region 5 and Co-Chairman of the extraordinary RBC meeting. The Thai delegation was led by Lieutenant General Amarit Boonsuya, Commander of the Military Region 1 and Co-Chairman of the extraordinary RBC meeting.

The extraordinary meeting of the Cambodia-Thailand Regional Border Committee (RBC) successfully concluded at 11:15 a.m. on the same day. Both the Cambodian and Thai sides reaffirmed their strong commitment to implementing the ceasefire and the 13-point consensus, further strengthening bilateral relations, and restoring normalcy in the border areas.

The two sides also agreed to hold the next meeting of the Regional Border Affairs Committee (RBC) within one month of this extraordinary meeting or at a convenient time, with Cambodia serving as the host.
