(Phnom Penh): The Regional Border Committee (RBC) meeting between Cambodia and Thailand will be held on 22 August 2025 in Sa Kaeo Province, Thailand. This meeting is part of the 13-point Agreed Minutes aimed at resolving issues peacefully and preventing conflict.

Lieutenant General Maly Socheata, Spokesperson for the Ministry of National Defence, announced at a press conference on Friday morning (Aug. 22) that the Cambodian delegation will be led by General Ek Sam Oun, Commander of Military Region 5 and Co-chair of the Cambodia–Thailand RBC meeting, while the Thai delegation will be headed by General Amrit Boonsaya, Commander of the 1st Army Region.

The RBC meeting is held in line with the 13-point Agreed Minutes of the Cambodia-Thailand General Border Committee (GBC) meeting convened in Malaysia on 7 August 2025.

Maly Socheata added that through the RBC meeting, Cambodia hopes to achieve further positive outcomes that will enable both sides to enhance the effective implementation of the ceasefire, bringing peace, stability, and a return to normalcy.
