(Phnom Penh): Pen Bona, Delegate Minister and Head of the Royal Government Spokesperson Unit, said that Cambodia considers the ceasefire agreement to be tremendously beneficial in ending damage to the military forces, civilians, and economy of both countries, as well as the impact on regional security as a whole.

Pen Bona spoke on Sunday (Aug. 17) during a press conference.

"Cambodia firmly honours all terms and conditions of the ceasefire agreement reached on July 28, 2025, during a special meeting in Putrajaya, Malaysia, hosted by Malaysia, co-organised by the United States of America, and with active participation from the People's Republic of China. The ceasefire agreement officially came into effect at midnight on the same day. Cambodia considers the ceasefire agreement to be tremendously beneficial in ending damage to the military forces, civilians, and economy of both countries, as well as the impact on regional security as a whole," the spokesperson underscored.

Cambodia strongly upholds the 13-point Agreed Minutes adopted in the extraordinary meeting of the Cambodia-Thailand General Border Committee, GBC, held on August 7, 2025, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, under the observation of Malaysia, the United States of America, and the People's Republic of China.

Cambodia also welcomes the positive results yielded in the extraordinary meeting of the Cambodia-Thailand Regional Border Committee, RBC, held on 16 August 2025, in Trat Province, Thailand.
