(Phnom Penh): Cambodia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation convened a briefing for 28 foreign embassies and 11 UN agency representatives, including the Thai Embassy, to update them on recent developments along the Cambodia–Thailand border.
Chaired by Acting Foreign Minister Eat Sophea, the meeting highlighted repeated Thai military violations of Cambodian sovereignty since the 28 July 2025 ceasefire and the 13-point agreement reached on 7 August. These actions include laying barbed wire and deploying troops in Cambodian territory.
The meeting was convened following new developments along the Cambodia–Thailand border, in particular, the increasing violations by the Thai military against Cambodia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Cambodia stressed that it has fully upheld the agreements, while continued Thai provocations threaten the fragile peace. On 11 August, Cambodian Foreign Minister Prak Sokhonn lodged formal complaints with the UN Security Council President and the UN Secretary General over the growing risks to stability.
