(Preah Vihear): On Friday morning (Aug.15), an Interim Observation Team (IOT), comprising members from seven countries, led by the Malaysian Defence Attaché to Cambodia and joined by defence attachés from other countries including Brunei, Indonesia, Laos, Myanmar, the Philippines, and Viet Nam, continued their visit to inspect several locations in preparation for the future deployment of an ASEAN Observation Team (AOT) headquarters in Preah Vihear provincial capital.

It is worth noting that this mission stemmed from the outcomes of the Special Meeting held on 28 July 2025, in Putrajaya, Malaysia, and the Extraordinary Meeting of the Cambodia–Thailand General Border Committee (Extraordinary GBC Meeting) was concluded on 7 August 2025, which reaffirmed the importance of the IOT deployment.

The Ministry of National Defence reaffirms Cambodia’s unwavering commitment to upholding the ceasefire agreement and firmly committed to the principles of international law, the peaceful resolution of disputes and maintaining its sovereignty and territorial integrity at all costs.
