(Phnom Penh): Chum Sounry, Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, said that the ministry strongly protests against the incursions of Thai forces into Cambodia’s sovereign territory.

The spokesperson spoke on Friday (Aug. 15) during a press briefing on the implementation of the Cambodia-Thailand ceasefire.

“The Thai military's actions have expanded into civilian areas, including Chouk Chey and Prey Chan villages, depriving displaced civilians of their homes and livelihoods and violating their fundamental human rights,” the spokesperson underlined.

He continued, "Cambodia demands Thailand cease all incursions and illegal occupations, withdraw all Thai military personnel and equipment, and position consistent with the legally established boundary.”

Cambodia reaffirmed its commitment to strictly implementing the 13-point Agreed Minutes adopted at the Extraordinary Meeting of the Cambodia-Thailand General Border Committee (GBC), under observation from representatives of Malaysia, the United States of America, and the People’s Republic of China, on 7 August 2025 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
