(Phnom Penh): Pen Bona, Minister Delegate attached to the Prime Minister and Head of the Royal Government Spokesperson Unit, emphasized that patience is the most crucial element, noting that the current ceasefire is under international observation. He stated that if Cambodia loses patience, it risks being seen as the provocateur.

Pen Bona spoke on Friday (Aug. 15) at a press briefing on the implementation of the Cambodia-Thailand ceasefire.

He added, “In implementing the ceasefire, Cambodia considers patience as the most crucial strategy to prevent resurgent of armed conflicts.”

Despite Thai provocations, including barbed wire installations intended to provoke instability, Cambodia has upheld tolerance, unity, and solidarity—resisting retaliation to safeguard peace and stability, the spokesperson underscored.
