(Singapore): Pich Chanmony, Spouse of Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet, was honored on 14 August 2025 with the Smile Asia Philanthropic Visionary Award (2nd edition) at the Smile Asia Charity Gala 2025. The award was personally presented by Gan Siow Huang, Minister of State responsible for Foreign Affairs, Commerce, and Industry of the Republic of Singapore, with participation from numerous regional and international dignitaries.

The award ceremony took place at the Singapore Marriott Tang Plaza Hotel.

The Smile Asia Philanthropic Visionary Award was established to recognise outstanding individuals who have made significant contributions to society in the field of health care.

Receiving the 2nd edition of the award recognises Pich Chanmony’s achievements, visionary leadership in Smile Cambodia, and her dedication to the health and well-being of children over more than a decade.

At the ceremony, Pich Chanmony expressed immense joy, honor, and pride for receiving this distinguished award. She emphasized that the award not only acknowledges her personal dedication but also honors her husband, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet, her children, parents, family, friends, colleagues, and all Cambodian citizens who have consistently supported her humanitarian mission.

She highlighted her husband’s frequent reminders that the Royal Government of Cambodia leaves no one behind. Through this principle, Cambodia has achieved significant progress in poverty reduction, education, and healthcare, although challenges remain that require continued attention and action.

She added that humanitarian work is never easy, but commitment, mutual encouragement, and enduring hope are key to overcoming obstacles.

On this special occasion, she expressed sincere gratitude to Smile Asia, Smile Cambodia, and all partners for their humanitarian and philanthropic contributions, particularly in advancing children’s health and welfare in Cambodia.

In light of recent tensions and challenges along the Cambodia-Thailand border, Pich Chanmony called for strict adherence to the ceasefire agreement, emphasising long-term peace and stability to prevent hatred, discrimination, or intergenerational conflicts.

Reflecting on visits to families of Cambodian war veterans and injured soldiers, she noted the severe negative impacts of war on affected families, particularly children’s emotional and mental well-being.

She concluded that this award represents not only recognition today but also a new beginning for the future, reaffirming her commitment to continue humanitarian and philanthropic missions across Cambodia, with a focus on alleviating suffering among vulnerable children and families, especially young girls and women.
