(Phnom Penh): Pen Bona, Delegate Minister and Head of the Royal Government’s Spokesperson Unit, highlighted two key points from the 13-point agreement of the Cambodia–Thailand General Border Committee meeting on 7 August 2025 in Kuala Lumpur, maintaining current troop positions and avoiding provocative actions.
Pen Bona spoke on Wednesday (Aug. 13) during a press conference.
"Point 2 stipulates that both sides are in agreement to maintain their current troop deployment without further movement as it is at the time of ceasefire reached at 24-hour local time on 28 July 2025. There shall be no troop movements, including patrol towards the other side's position," the spokesperson underscored.
"Point 4 stipulates that both sides agree not to undertake provocative actions that may escalate tensions. This includes military activity to enter the other side's air space and territory or position at the ceasefire from 24:00 local time on 28 July 2025," the spokesperson continued.
It should be noted that on 12-13 August 2025, Thai paramilitary forces and Thai border forces inspected the area in front of the Chouk Chey checkpoint. They set up barbed wired and placed tire in Chouk Chey village, Ou Beichoan commune, Ou Chrov district, Banteay Meanchey province in Military Region 5.
