(Phnom Penh): Pen Bona, Delegate Minister and Head of the Royal Government’s Spokesperson Unit, reiterated three key points reflecting the firm and clear stance of the Royal Government of Cambodia.

Pen Bona spoke on Tuesday (Aug. 12) during a press conference.

The three points are as follows:

First, as a peace-loving country that respects international law and takes great responsibility for its words and promises, Cambodia reaffirms its unwavering commitment to respecting the ceasefire agreement in the special meeting in Putrajaya on 28 July 2025, hosted by Malaysia, co-organised by the United States of America, and with active participation of the People's Republic of China, that comes into effect at midnight on the same day.

Second, Cambodia reaffirms its firm commitment to fully respect every point of the 13-point outcomes reached at the extraordinary meeting of the Cambodia-Thailand General Border Committee (GBC) on 7 August 2025, in Kuala Lumpur, in particular the agreement to maintain their current troop deployments, including patrol towards the other side positions. Cambodia urges Thailand to also fully honour its commitment to all these points of the ceasefire agreement with good faith affairs.

Third, the border issue shall only be resolved peacefully through technical and international legal mechanisms, not through the use of force.
