(Phnom Penh): The Ministry of National Defence confirmed that the situation along the front lines in Preah Vihear and Oddar Meanchey provinces remained calm from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Tuesday (Aug. 12). Spokesperson Lieutenant General Maly Socheata said Cambodian forces remain strong, fully vigilant, and committed to their duties.

Speaking at a press conference, she called on both sides to demonstrate will, commitment, respect, and honest implementation of agreements reached under the 28 July 2025 ceasefire and the 7 August extraordinary General Border Committee (GBC) meeting.

Cambodia reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to strictly implement the ceasefire, maintain current troop positions, and refrain from movements or patrols toward the other side’s positions, as stipulated in Point 2 of the agreement.

The spokesperson stressed that Cambodia will continue to work constructively with Thailand, Malaysia, ASEAN members, and relevant partners to fully implement the ceasefire and resolve disputes peacefully under international law, the UN Charter, and the ASEAN Charter.

She also urged Thailand to act responsibly and sincerely in fulfilling the agreement to strengthen mutual trust and maintain peace and stability along the border.
