(Phnom Penh): Cambodian Foreign Minister Prak Sokhonn informed the UN Secretary General and the President of the Security Council about the growing risk concerning the fragile truce between Cambodia and Thailand, Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Chum Sounry said in a press conference on Tuesday (Aug. 12).

“The Thai armed forces have continued escalating breaches of Cambodia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and violations of international law and binding bilateral agreements, as well as the terms of the agreed ceasefire. Since the entry into force of the agreed ceasefire on 28 July 2025, Thai military has repeatedly entered Cambodian territory. They have illegally laid barbed wire and constructed at multiple locations,” the spokesperson added.
