(Phnom Penh): Lieutenant General Maly Socheata, Spokesperson for Cambodia’s Ministry of National Defence, said that apart from receiving information from the Thai media regarding a landmine explosion that reportedly injured three Thai soldiers, Cambodia has not yet received any clear confirmation from its frontline forces about the incident.
The Cambodian military has been and continues to strictly adhere to the spirit of the 28 July ceasefire and the spirit of the Extraordinary Meeting of the General Border Committee (GBC) held on 7 August 2025 in Malaysia.
The spokesperson for Cambodia’s Ministry of National Defence stated that Cambodia hopes the Thai side will respect the points agreed upon at the Extraordinary Cambodia–Thailand GBC meeting, especially Point 2, which stipulates that both sides must not mobilise their troops, including refraining from patrols beyond their stationed positions.
