(Phnom Penh): ARC Accelerator is offering startups a three-month programme with up to $5,000 in support, mentorship and resources in exchange for a five percent equity stake, aiming to boost the country’s growing entrepreneurial ecosystem.

Cambodian entrepreneurs are being given the opportunity to develop their businesses with the resources and tutelage offered by ARC Accelerator. The Phnom Penh-based startup incubator is offering administrative, educational and financial support of up to USD5,000.

“Cambodia’s startup ecosystem is booming,” said Zia Bharwani, Co-Founder of ARC, adding that ARC’s aim to develop these startups represents Cambodia’s potential for increasing economic development.

The rising ease and scale of entrepreneurship in Cambodia may catch the eye of global investors and position the country as a major destination for growth and investment.

After the scheme’s success last year, which “even saw an acquisition”, Bharwani noted, ARC is offering the intensive three-month programme in exchange for a five percent stake in each participating company.

To entice startups, ARC offers resources that reduce initial overheads, including office spaces, high-speed internet, and professional support with legal and administrative tasks.
The incubator endeavours to ensure self-sufficient growth and operations by the end of a company’s three-month tenure. This goal is furthered by workshops in areas such as marketing, finance and law, alongside networking opportunities with industry professionals, customers and potential investors.

The application window for ARC’s second cohort is set to close on September 12. For more information: https://www.arc-cambodia.com/
