(Phnom Penh): Lieutenant General Maly Socheata, Spokesperson for Cambodia’s Ministry of National Defence, said on Friday morning (Aug. 8), the Malaysian Defence Attaché to Cambodia led the coordination team for the Interim Observer Team from the seven ASEAN member states. The team is traveling to Oddar Meanchey Province to monitor the implementation of the ceasefire.

Speaking on Friday (Aug. 8) during a press conference on the status of the implementation of the Cambodia-Thailand ceasefire, the spokesperson added that this action follows the commitments made at the Extraordinary Cambodia–Thailand General Border Committee (GBC) Meeting held on August 7 in Kuala Lumpur, the spokesperson added.

The Interim Observer Team includes:
1. Malaysian Defence Attaché to Cambodia (Chair)
2. Myanmar Defence Attaché to Cambodia
3. Indonesian Defence Attaché to Cambodia
4. Singapore Defence Attaché to Cambodia, based in Hanoi
5. Vietnam Assistant Defence Attaché to Cambodia
6. Laos Assistant Defence Attaché to Cambodia
7. The Philippines Assistant Defence Attaché to Cambodia.
