(Kuala Lumpur): According to the agreed minutes of the Extraordinary General Border Committee (GBC) Meeting between Cambodia and Thailand, both sides agree to refrain from constructing or enhancing any military infrastructure or fortifications beyond their own side.
The Extraordinary GBC meeting was led on the Cambodian side by Minister of National Defence Tea Seiha, and on the Thai side by the acting minister of defence of Thailand, held on Thursday (Aug. 7) in Malaysia.
In the joint minutes, both sides agreed not to undertake provocative actions that may escalate tensions. This includes military activities to enter the other side’s air space and territory or positions as of ceasefire from 24:00 hours (local time) on 28 July 2025.
Both sides also agreed not to use any kind of forces against civilians and civilian objects in all circumstances. Such actions would not only endanger communities in the border areas but also violate international law and tarnish the global image of the non-compliant side.
