(Kuala Lumpur): Cambodia and Thailand agreed to schedule the next General Border Committee (GBC) meeting within one month following the Extraordinary GBC Meeting, which was held on Thursday (Aug. 7) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The Extraordinary GBC meeting was led on the Cambodian side by Minister of National Defence Tea Seiha, and on the Thai side by the acting minister of defence of Thailand.

The meeting was convened under the coordination of the Malaysia prime minister, who currently holds the ASEAN rotating chairmanship, and was also attended by representatives from the United States and the People’s Republic of China.

“Both sides agree to schedule the next GBC Meeting within a month after 7 August 2025 (at a venue to be discussed). Otherwise, an extraordinary GBC Meeting should be called immediately with the same format as this Extraordinary GBC Meeting to discuss the ceasefire,” according to the agreed minutes of the meeting.
