(Phnom Penh): Cambodian Ministry of National Defence Spokesperson Lieutenant General Maly Socheata strongly condemned continued violations of Cambodian sovereignty by Thai armed forces, reporting that Thai troops are actively constructing fortified concrete positions inside Cambodian territory, in clear breach of the ceasefire agreement.

The Ministry reported the following timeline of Thai military movements on Tuesday:
• 9:09 a.m. — Thai troops violated Cambodian territorial integrity in the Anseh area.
• 9:50 a.m. — A Thai military truck delivered construction materials, including culverts and tires, and offloaded them in front of their outpost.
• 9:53 a.m. — Thai forces resumed trench-digging activity.
• 10:55 a.m. — A second Thai excavator approached within 15 meters of a Cambodian police post and began installing culverts and tires into a prepared foundation trench.

The spokesperson described these actions as a blatant and provocative violation of both Cambodia’s territorial integrity and the ceasefire agreement, which officially took effect at 24:00 on 28 July 2025.

The Cambodian military has made repeated demands since the morning of August 5 for the Thai side to immediately dismantle all concrete fortifications and withdraw heavy machinery from the area. Despite direct communication, no removal has yet taken place. Talks between the two sides remain ongoing.

Spokesperson Socheata underscored, “Cambodia urges Thailand to immediately halt all encroaching activities. Continued violations risk escalating tensions and undermining efforts to achieve a peaceful resolution.”

She reaffirmed that Anseh lies entirely within Cambodian sovereign territory, under the control of Cambodian armed forces, and any incursion is unacceptable.

Cambodia remains committed to peaceful resolution through diplomacy, international law, and bilateral mechanisms such as the General Border Committee (GBC). However, Lieutenant General Socheata emphasized that while Cambodia seeks peace, it stands fully prepared to defend its territory without compromise.
