(Phnom Penh): Pen Bona, Delegate Minister and Head of the Royal Government’s Spokesperson Unit, called on the public to place their trust in the Royal Government’s efforts to preserve peace and safeguard national sovereignty in a peaceful, lawful, and multilateral manner, in accordance with international law.
Pen Bona spoke on Saturday (Aug. 2) during a press conference on the current status of the Cambodia–Thailand ceasefire.
“I would like to encourage everyone to place your trust in the Royal Government, led by Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet, and the leaders of our top institutions, especially Samdech Techo Hun Sen, President of Senate, together with dedicated leaders at all levels, including our brave soldiers and armed forces. They are committed to managing our efforts to maintain peace and protect the integrity of our territory in a peaceful and orderly manner within the framework of international law and the spirit of multilateralism,” the spokesperson underscored.
On behalf of the Royal Government, he expressed his heartfelt gratitude to all fellow citizens who have stood up in defence of our nation, and have demonstrated unwavering unity in protecting our sovereignty, territorial integrity, and the dignity of the Khmer people. This collective spirit is a powerful and unbreakable force.
At the same time, he urged everyone to uphold our national dignity and ensure that our patriotism does not grow into extremism, emphasising that as a peace-loving nation that respects international law and values multilateralism
