(Phnom Penh): Cambodia has created over 300,000 new jobs through recently approved projects, and the government is urging Cambodian migrant workers to return home with confidence, assuring them of strong employment prospects.
Sun Chanthol, First Vice Chairman of the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC), delivered the message during a press conference on Friday (Aug. 1).
“As of 25 July 2025, we’ve approved 426 projects, generating over 300,000 jobs—90 percent in the industrial sector,” he said. “With the new tariff rate in place, I believe we’ll soon exceed 500 projects and create even more jobs annually.”
Sun Chanthol continued, “This is our country, our language, our food, our families, our religion, our king, our government. It’s time to return and help rebuild our national economy.”
“Working in Cambodia means directly contributing to national growth and poverty reduction,” he added. “Working abroad cannot match that impact. Come home and help build Cambodia.”
