(Phnom Penh): Lieutenant General Maly Socheata, Spokesperson of the Ministry of National Defence, announced that as of the evening of 30 July 2025, the number of displaced civilians due to the Cambodia–Thailand border conflict has risen to 172,094.

Maly Socheata spoke on Thursday (Jul. 31) during a press conference on the current status of Cambodia-Thailand ceasefire.

“As of the evening of 30 July 2025, the number of displaced civilians stood at 39,546 in Oddar Meanchey, 32,558 in Preah Vihear, 35,057 in Banteay Meanchey, 3,026 in Pursat, and 61,907 in Siem Reap, bringing the total to 172,094 across these five provinces,” the spokesperson underscored.

It should be noted that from 24-28 July 2025, invading Thai forces launched attacks on multiple locations inside Cambodian territory using heavy artillery and F-16 fighter jets. The targeted areas included Phnom Trop, Ta Thav, Phnom Khmoch, O'Phka Sne, Emerald Triangle, Ta Moan Thom Temple, Ta Krabei Temple, pagodas, health centres, villages, and Preah Vihear Temple, causing tens of thousands of civilians to flee their homes in search of safety from Thai shelling.
