(Phnom Penh): General Vong Pisen, Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces, met with General Tan Sri H.J. Mohd Nizam bin H.J. Jafa, Commander of the Malaysian Armed Forces, on 29 July 2025 during his official visit to Cambodia.

General Vong Pisen welcomed General Nizam Jafa’s visit, noting its importance in supporting the ceasefire’s implementation and restoring stability along the border. He requested Malaysia’s assistance in monitoring the situation through observation teams to ensure transparency, accountability, and lasting peace.

General Nizam Jafa confirmed that two observation teams will be formed, one led by Malaysia’s military attaché in Cambodia and the other by its attaché in Thailand, with inspections starting today.

Expressing confidence in the peace process, General Nizam Jafa emphasized that lasting peace can only be achieved through transparency, trust, and sincere cooperation.
