(Kampong Speu): Major General Ouy Heang, Commander of Cambodia's Military Region 3, held a zoom meeting with commander of Thailand’s Chanthaburi-Trat Border Defence Force.

During the meeting, both sides agreed to respect the ceasefire agreement reached by the leadership of both countries, refrain from troop reinforcements and movements, and avoid confrontations. They also pledged to maintain direct communication and exchange information regularly. In the event of any incident, both sides agreed to make immediate contact to resolve the issue and further improve coordination.

Regarding border demarcation and mine clearance, both parties acknowledged that such matters must await decisions from the JBC (Joint Boundary Commission) and GBC (General Border Committee).

Please be informed that Cambodia and Thailand agreed to a ceasefire, effective from midnight on 28 July 2025. The agreement was reached during a negotiation held in Malaysia on the afternoon of 28 July 2025, an initiative proposed by the US and facilitated by Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim in his role as rotating ASEAN Chair, with participation from China.
