(Phnom Penh): Cambodian Senate President, Samdech Techo Hun Sen expressed high appreciation and gratitude to the armed forces of both Cambodia and Thailand for respecting and implementing the ceasefire agreement and for successfully convening a regional-level military meeting.

Samdech Techo wrote on Tuesday (Jul. 29) on social media as follows:

“Although there is now a ceasefire, I have not had much rest. Last night, I slept for just over two hours and continued working up to this moment, possibly until 7 p.m. or later depending on how the situation evolves. Since midnight on 28 July into 29 July 2025, my duty has been to support the successful implementation of the ceasefire agreement to ensure the war ends and peace prevails instead.”

I express my deep appreciation and gratitude to the armed forces of both Cambodia and Thailand for respecting and implementing this agreement, and for enabling a successful regional-level meeting. Let us work together to safeguard peace, for once it is lost, the path to reclaim it is long and difficult.”
