(Phnom Penh): Lieutenant General Maly Socheata, Spokesperson of the Ministry of National Defence, outlined that stated that multiple Thai domestic media outlets and official Thai Facebook pages have blocked Cambodian audiences, accusing Thailand of attempting to conceal the truth as the aggressor in the ongoing conflict.
Maly Socheata spoke on Monday (Jul. 28) during a press conference.
Speaking at a press conference on Monday (July 28), Maly Socheata said, “Our team has confirmed that various Thai domestic media and official pages have blocked Cambodian viewers to prevent them from seeing how Thailand spreads misinformation and twists facts about Cambodia. This shows Thailand fears the truth being exposed.”
She reaffirmed Cambodia’s commitment to resolving the conflict through peaceful means and legal diplomacy in line with international law. However, she stressed that the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces (RCAF) remain fully prepared to defend national sovereignty, territorial integrity, and the people of Cambodia at any cost.
The spokesperson added that Cambodia’s defensive stance is a legitimate right under Article 51 of the UN Charter, which permits self-defence against acts of aggression. The Cambodian forces have exercised extreme restraint and professionalism, responding only in defence and targeting solely military zones.
