(Phnom Penh): Lieutenant General Maly Socheata, Spokesperson of the Ministry of National Defence, said that at 8:15 a.m., a Thai warplane fired F-16 rockets at Ta Krabei Temple, while Thai forces intensified troop deployments and heavy weapon attacks on Cambodian territory.

Maly Socheata spoke on Monday (Jul. 28) during a press conference.

Speaking at a press conference on Monday (July 28), Maly Socheata condemned Thailand’s escalating aggression, calling it a blatant violation of the UN Charter, ASEAN principles, and international law. She warned that Thailand’s actions pose a serious threat not only to regional peace and stability but also to the foundations of the international order.

Regarding the situation in Military Region 4, she reported that on 28 July 2025, the Thai side launched attacks on Cambodia as follows:

- 3:10 a.m.: Thailand fired heavy artillery at the Ta Moan Thom and Ta Krabei temple areas.

- 5:30 a.m.: Thai ground forces entered Ta Krabei Temple with support from machine guns and heavy artillery.

- 5:50 a.m.: Thai ground forces withdrew, but artillery shelling continued.

- 8:15 a.m.: A Thai warplane fired F-16 rockets at the Ta Krabei temple area.

- 10:25 a.m.: Thai forces launched a ground assault at Thma Daun, backed by artillery fire. As of now, Thai attacks remain intense and aggressive.

Maly Socheata stressed that Cambodian armed forces continue to stand firm, demonstrating courage and determination in defending the nation’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
She added that in Military Region 5, Thai forces have rotated some troops, but the situation along the maritime border remains unchanged.
