(Phnom Penh): Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet advised all relevant ministries, provincial authorities, and armed forces to prioritize the safe repatriation of Cambodian migrant workers and to provide full support to those displaced due to the ongoing clashes between Cambodian and Thai troops.

The premier wrote on his social media on Sunday (Jul. 27) as follows:

"In response to the large-scale return of Cambodian migrant workers from Thailand and the displacement of civilians due to military clashes between Cambodian and Thai troops, the Royal Government has taken a series of urgent measures since the outbreak of hostilities on 24 July 2025 to coordinate the response.

All relevant ministries and institutions, armed forces, and provincial administrations in the seven provinces bordering Thailand have coordinated the border crossings and provided temporary shelter for affected citizens.

The Ministry of National Defence, the Royal Cambodian Army, Phnom Penh Municipality, and provincial authorities along the Cambodian–Thai border have deployed transport vehicles to bring our people from the border back to their hometowns.

Provincial administrations, along with national-level working groups, are cooperating to manage the reception of returning citizens in their respective jurisdictions.

Meanwhile, for civilians fleeing active combat zones, the National Committee for Disaster Management is working with relevant ministries and provincial authorities to ensure safety, shelter, food, and medical care. The Ministry of Economy and Finance and the Ministry of Health are actively involved in providing essential support for the well-being of affected citizens during this difficult time.

I also express my deepest condolences to the heroic Cambodian soldiers and civilians who lost their lives due to the clashes. At the same time, I highly commend the bravery and heroism of our troops and national police officers who are actively defending our territorial integrity.

I would like to thank and express my gratitude to all monks and Cambodian people for their continued support and encouragement to our heroic military and police forces who stand firm and carry out their mission to protect our homeland. Let us continue to stand united as one Khmer nation to defend our territory."
