(Phnom Penh): Lieutenant General Maly Socheata, Spokesperson for the Ministry of National Defence, firmly rejected accusations by the Thai side claiming that Cambodian forces used long-range missiles “PHL03” to strike Thai territory. The spokesperson clarified that Cambodia has no necessity to deploy such long-range missile systems.
She spoke at a press conference on Saturday (Jul. 26), marking the third day of Thailand’s aggression against Cambodian sovereignty.
“There have been allegations that Cambodia has used PHL03 long-range missiles to strike Thai territory. The Ministry of National Defence categorically rejects this as false and fabricated information aimed at discrediting Cambodia. Cambodia has no necessity to use the PHL03 missile system," Maly Socheata underscored.
Additionally, the spokesperson strongly dismissed and condemned the baseless accusations by the Thai side that Cambodia had fired explosives into Lao territory, despite the fact that Lao authorities have neither made such allegations nor launched any investigation into the matter. Instead, it is the Thai side that is spreading distorted and misleading information targeting Cambodia.
She also sent a message to the Thai side, urging them to stop disseminating false information in an attempt to divert attention away from their violations of international law on Cambodian territory by fabricating blame against Cambodia.
