(Phnom Penh): Lieutenant General Maly Socheata, Under Secretary of State and Spokesperson for the Ministry of National Defence of Cambodia, reported that Thai invading forces launched coordinated assaults on seven separate locations inside Cambodian territory.

Maly Socheata spoke on Friday (Jul. 25) during the press conference hosted by the Royal Government Spokesperson Unit in response to the escalating armed clashes along the Cambodia–Thailand border.

The attacks unfolded as follows:

- 03:20 a.m.: Thai troops began their assault in the areas of Phnom Khlouch, Ta Thav, and Phnom 333.

- 05:25 a.m.: Cluster munitions were used by Thai forces to strike Phnom Khlouch.

- 05:30 a.m.: Attacks commenced near Ta Moan and Ta Krabei temples.

- 05:40 a.m.: Thai troops launched an offensive in the Emerald Triangle area.

- 06:50 a.m.: A second round of cluster munitions was fired into Techo Thommacheat village, Choam Khsant District, Preah Vihear Province.

- 07:03 a.m.: Shelling was reported in the Chham Tae area.

- 08:00 a.m.: Thai troops attempted to re-seize the Ta Krabei temple area, but were decisively repelled by Cambodian forces, who fought tenaciously and resolutely to prevent any violation of Cambodia’s sovereignty.

"It has been clearly observed that Thai forces have employed cluster munitions in a targeted assault on Cambodian territory. This unlawful and inhumane act constitutes a serious violation of international law, including conventions prohibiting the use of such weapons. The aggressive and indiscriminate actions by Thai troops not only demonstrate blatant disregard for Cambodia’s sovereignty, but also highlight Thailand’s contempt for international humanitarian law and the basic norms that govern civilised conduct in armed conflict," Maly Socheata underscored.
